with One Eye Open

This is my hero’s journey, with some adventure I want to explore self-transformation over the next year before I turn forty. I want this to be an exciting time of life to reflect and form positive habits to prepare to be a better girlfriend, daughter, and mother. I hope to form a schedule and rhythm with some proactive habits to start school or work and get my poetry and photography out their as a recovery story. Some of my re-occurring patterns and challenges include what I addressed and found out about myself with the Saged shadow prompts. I am compassionate. I need extra time to plan and cook, clean, work and study.

Jay fell asleep listening to a story about Jesus’s resurrection and I’m learning more about the story as he falls into a deep sleep. Our cat is resting at the end of the bed and I have a box addressed to both of us with a moon ritual kit waiting to be seen by both of us. It smells like mint in our bedroom. I just finished some coffee and I’m about to burn some incense. A sense of peacefulness and content rests over our heads.

You rolled over with one eye open and I was excited and asked if you were getting up. Then you fell back asleep momentarily. I’ve been reading about what a Hero’s Journey is, and looking up books for ageing couples, following positive people nearing or in their late forties. I’ve looked up “food as medicine” and tried to order us a tantric sex book so we can balance our energy and build up to it. I’m getting excited to move into another aspect of our lives together. I feel a lot of joy and I think I want to celebrate all of our little achievements together such as sobriety, quitting and leaving behind our negative habits, birthdays and self-transformation, and our relationship all around.
